Eclipse Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Past Five, an alternative metal band from BorasSweden to an exclusive, worldwide deal. The band recently wrapped recording with producer Christian Silver (Dragonforce, Arch Enemy, Soilwork) at the infamous StudioMega in Varberg, Sweden. The resulting EP entitled Detox is scheduled for release on May 8, 2020 via Eclipse Records.
As a project started by band members in their teen years as an after-school hobby, Past Five has evolved into a serious career path with a focus on songwriting and delivering loud energetic live shows. With the band members growing up in small suburban towns, they often found themselves with little or nothing to do, so it was only natural for creativity to become the dominant way of coping with their bleak surroundings. Naturally, this has proven useful for their musical and creative endeavors.
“Becoming a part of the Eclipse family is literally a dream come true!” says lead singer Jonathan Wallin“We´re all beyond excited for the release of our EP and to be working with Eclipse, which feels like a natural next step.”  Drummer Jerri Lassinniemi adds, “I am really excited about the times ahead. We have worked hard on this EP, and we are stoked about releasing it. We really believe in Eclipse Records and can’t wait to see the results of our signing with the label.”
