  Full song: https://charlottewessels.nl/songofthemonth/ This month's Song of the Month (nr 76!) is inspired by the story of the Radium Girls, a story that absolutely broke my heart and made my blood boil. The Radium Girls were a group of young factory workers in the early 1900s who painted watch and clock dials with luminous radium paint, unaware they were slowly being poisoned. I recently heard an episode of the incredible @morbidpodcast (hi weirdos!!) episode on the subject, and it stayed with me long after I'd finished listening. This inspired the song! If you love creepy history and true crime, I can't recommend them enough. 🖤 I wanted to write from the perspective of one of these women: simply doing her job, dreaming about the future, completely unaware of what was being taken from her.
