Arcadian Child - Superfonica (New Full Album) Greek neo-psych band Arcadian Child release its new LP, Superfonica, via Ripple Music / Rogue Wave Records. Hailing from Limassol, Cyprus, Arcadian Child formed in 2013 and soon made a name for itself via a cool and coherent sound that combines hypnotic psychedelia, stoner rock riffage, and indie rock groove. Arcadian Child delivers guitar-orientated psych rock blended with ambient elements, hallucinogenic patterns and kaleidoscopic, headphone-friendly swirl. Superfonica is the follow-up to Arcadian Child's celebrated 2017 debut. Psyched, potent and intoxicating, Arcadian Child deliver resonating psychedelia blended with ambience, hallucinogenic patterns and cathartic eruptions. With sounds rivaling the squealing sirens of the Mediterranean up to the dark bellows of the West, Arcadian Child convey their psychedelic ritual in their jam-filled live shows where they spread their hypnotic vibrations. Superfonica is a beautiful catchy psychedelic rock LP, with a dreamy nostalgic vibe all over, enchanting you with sophisticated aerial melodies, kinda tribal drumming, smooth bass grooves, fuzzy riffage and a few nice soli. The songs are a bit longer than on their debut, mesmerizing you smoothly, going further and further, often with a welcome twist to give it a new energy. Afterglow was quite a complex mix of really catchy and easy listening songs, Superfonica lost nothing of that, it just flows easier than its predecessor. You can feel the band seems to be even more comfortable in their music and understood a bit more how to assemble more coherently everything they want to express. But don’t worry, you’ll still want to press repeat because here again, you’ll hear details you missed, keeping you enchanted, listening after listening. Superfonica is a perfect follow-up to what these guys presented us last year. You still got that smooth sunny vibe going all over the LP, and all its diverse nuances too, maybe losing a bit of energy only to gain some more depth. As if they were exploring their possibilities on their first record, took a little step back to have a better overview of what they’ve achieved, and worked on it to get a more refined result.
