“The Nectars scratch all your cerebral itches until your brain bleeds gloriously. Sci-Fi Televisionclocks in around 1,500 seconds and not a single fuk’n one of them is forgettable. Taste the rock, already.”
Alt Press, 12 Bands You Need To Know

“The band’s creative outlook towards music and love and their expression of rebellion is what makes Sci-Fi Television a truly invigorating listen.”
Louder Than War

“The Nectars take inspiration from their New York City forebears, while injecting a heavy dose of lavish pop sheen, resulting in a sound which falls somewhere between peak 90s No Doubt and Riot! - era Paramore.”
Louder Sound

Following the release of their debut album Sci-Fi TelevisionNew Jersey’s hottest rising indie-punks The Nectars have shared the video for the opening track ‘Holy’.

In less than one and a half minutes of frantic guitars and energetic beats, the video sees lead vocalist Jessica Kenny in a chaotic truck ride, surrounded by personifications of lust, addiction and capitalism who ultimately suck her in and bring her to the dark side. It’s short n’ sharp but sweet.

The band have also announced their return to the UK, after they visited for the first time earlier this year to celebrate the album release, where they played at the Great Escape, Dot To Dot and shows in London, Birmingham and Pontypridd.

Their next venture will see them head to Germany in September where they will play Hamburg Reeperbahn and Berlin Musik & Frieden festivals, before returning to London to perform an IFF showcase event at Dingwalls, an acoustic show at the Green Note Basement and a final headline show at the London Monarch on September 27th.

Sci-Fi Television is a succulent slice of lo-fi indie rock which harks back to the early 70’s pop/punk era with a sassy modern take. It’s the band’s reflection of living in their twenties, their journey to self-discovery and an escape from the evils that are consuming our world. It features the previously released ‘We Will Run’‘I Want It’ and the debut single ‘Heaven’.

Breaking out of the suburbs of New Jersey, these DIY upstarts – consisting of the gorgeous Jessica Kenny (vocals), Jon Paul (bass / vocals), Mike Montalbano (drums / vocals) and Michael Baron (guitar / vocals) – deliver an exciting and fresh style. In their young career, the band have already had plenty of label interest but their cool, free-spirited nature sees them choosing to do things their own way, from self-made videos to scouting studios for recording time.

They are also creating a buzz on the NYC live scene following shows at iconic venues including the Mercury Lounge, Meatlocker and BoonTunes and have garnered rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic from the likes of Alt Press, Louder Sound and Louder Than War.

The Nectars are on their way to greatness with infectious energy that will leave you wanting more.
