Space Raptor - Hyperion (2016) (Full Album)
As much as I venture across Europe's borders, my attention always ends up falling irreversibly into a gravitational spiral that links me to its epicenter: Germany. This is where most of the European bands linked to the Heavy Psych Scene are based and with the constant inclusion of new German bands, its predominance does not seem to slow down. This time the Space Raptor quartet with their debut "Hyperion" comes naturally to the list of unforgettable albums of 2016 to all devout pilgrims of Heavy Psych Rock. These four young musicians present us with their powerful sound able to break down the walls of our conscience and throw us Cosmos inside. Their energetic Heavy Psych calibrated by galloping Hard Rock and tempered by the Post Rock of astral nature has the gift of captivating us and enveloping us in a pure and pleasurable manifestation of total surrender to the enigmatic domains of Hyperion.
The two guitars intertwine in a dazzling and hypnotic exploration where their exalted and vertiginous solos and corpulent riffs of monolithic dimensions are evidenced. The bass of heavy and corrosive lines is thrown into an imposing dance that haunts us, whereas the battery driven to high rotation ticks all this groove's discharge with exciting vivacity. They effusively swung their heads in response to this powerful discharge of euphoria that invaded and devastated us. A one-way disc that shoots us through the space envelope at the speed of light. Sometimes remembering Sungrazer, The Machine or Rotor. Full instrumental, very good stoner rock, huge sound. Ultra groovy. Certainly a great band with high potential. Do Not Miss! Excellent instrumental jams that incorporate gritty stoner riffage with spacey atmospherics and ambient psychedelic colouring. The perfect soundtrack for trips both physical and spiritual!
