JENNY OWEN YOUNGS SHARES REMIXES FROM RA RA RIOT AND THE ONE AM RADIO (HRISHIKESH HIRWAY OF SONG EXPLODER)
FROM NIGHT SHIFT (EXTENDED EDITION) OUT OCTOBER 2ND
On October 2nd, Jenny Owen Youngs will release an extended edition of last year’s Night Shift EP, which featured songs produced by Ethan Gruska (Phoebe Bridgers’ Punisher, Fiona Apple’s Fetch The Bolt Cutters) and Jake Sinclair (Taylor Swift, Weezer, Panic! At The Disco). The latest new addition to the original release is today’s Ra Ra Riot remix of “Dreaming on the Bus”, which comes on the heels of The One AM Radio (Hrishikesh Hirway of Song Exploder podcast and Netflix series) remix of “Vampire Weeknight” and what Stereogum deemed Young’s “excellent spectral cover” of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”. Stream “Dreaming On The Bus” (Ra Ra Riot Remix) on Bandcamp “I have been a fan of Ra Ra Riot ever since they accomplished what I thought was impossible,” says Youngs, “covering Kate Bush in a way that could stand alongside her original recordings. They then did this, unthinkably, a SECOND TIME. No small feat, twice over. I was thrilled when they agreed to remix ‘Dreaming on the Bus,’ and love the way they found a way to pull the song into a kind of underwater dreamland, all undulating waves and rising bubbles and sunlight filtering down through the water.”

Stream the original Night Shift EP On Bandcamp Jenny Owen Youngs has spent the few years since her last proper release in 2015 pursuing varying avenues of creativity. Notably she launched the incredibly popular Buffy The Vampire Slayer podcast “Buffering The Vampire Slayer”, which just wrapped its 5th season and was named one of Time's Top 50 Podcasts and selected as one of Esquire's Top 10 Podcasts of 2018 among other accolades. Youngs also established herself as an accomplished and sought after songwriter, working with artists including Ingrid Michaelson, Pitbull, Shungudzo, and Brett Dennen, and co-writing Panic! At the Disco’s mega hit “High Hopes”, which broke the record for most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart at 34 weeks.
The singer, songwriter, and natural history enthusiast grew up in the forests of northern New Jersey and is now based in Los Angeles. Jenny Owen Youngs has released three albums and a handful of EPs, both independently and via Nettwerk Records, and her songs have been heard on Bojack Horseman, Weeds, Grey's Anatomy, Suburgatory, and more.
