Hailing from Austin, Texas, Starving Wolves have been crafting their own brand of energetic punk since 2015. Their first full length album, True Fire, will be released spring 2020. Describing themselves as: “a heartfelt political punch to the teeth”, Starving Wolves embrace traditional punk elements like aggressive drumbeats and gruff vocals, while blending melodic guitars and singalong campfire choruses. Following an expansive touring schedule, they have established themselves as a road-ready punk rock ensemble. True Fire was recorded in 2017 and 2018 at Enormous Door Studios with Jack Conroe (Severed Head of State, World Burns to Death, Butcher) and Jason Buntz. This recording captures Starving Wolves’ aggressive, yet emotional sound. As a followup to their inaugural 7” single, We Are One on Boulevard Trash Records, True Fire encapsulates the bands’ fast paced controlled chaos. Starting off as an offshoot of Krum Bums, a mid-00’s street punk outfit, frontman David Rodriguez reunited with bassist Zach Volta and guitarist Josh Langford to bring their already established chemistry to Starving Wolves. Kevin Nguyen crafted his fast paced, yet precise guitar style in the punk band, Evacuate, while newest member, Reeve Allen, completes the 5-piece group on drums.
