/ brutal.assault Carcass is a British extreme metal band that was formed in Liverpool in 1985. They became known as pioneers of grindcore, with their early works featuring a raw and abrasive sound. Additionally, the band is recognized for playing a key role in the development of melodic death metal, a contribution that is especially evident in their later albums BRUTAL ASSAULT is an annual open-air metal festival held since 1996 in the historic 18th-century military fortress of Josefov, Czech Republic.
