Fred Hampton was asleep when police entered his home and shot him in the head.
The officers involved were never charged and the murder was ruled justifiable.
Rodney King (1991)
Age: 25
Rodney King was brutally beaten 56 times and tased, resulting in multiple fractures and contusions.
April 29, 1992, the officers involved were acquitted of assault.
Only two officers served 30-month sentences.
Henry Glover (2005)
Age: 31
Henry Glover was gunned down and set on fire by police.
The officers drove Glover to an isolated area after shooting him and laughed as they burned his body.
They were acquitted of murder charges and won an appeal.
Guy Jarreau Jr. (2010)
Age: 34
Guy was filming an anti-violence music video when police shot and killed him.
It was revealed that the officer who murdered Guy was not in uniform and did not call for medical assistance immediately after.
Michael Nida (2011)
Age: 31
Michael Nida was stopped by police for jaywalking.
After a foot pursuit, he was shot 4 times.
The officer was found not guilty and was promoted within the department shortly after.
Eric Garner (2014)

Eric Garner was murdered by Police after he was placed in a chokehold and yelled out “I can’t breathe” 11 times while lying face down on the sidewalk.
No indictment was ever followed and the case was dropped.
Michael Brown (2014)

Michael Brown was shot 6 times while holding his hands up and yelling “don’t shoot”.
Michael’s body remained unmoved in the street for several hours and received no medical attention.

Tamir Rice was playing at the park with a toy gun when officers shot him two seconds after arriving.
Both officers were placed on paid administrative leave and were not indicted because the evidence did not indicate criminal conduct.
Tanisha Anderson (2015)

Tanisha was killed by police during a 911 mental health call made by her family.
Anderson was restrained in a prone position and the officer placed a knee on her neck.
Tanisha stopped breathing and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The officer received a 10-day suspension.
Elijah McClain (2019)
Age: 23
Elijah was confronted by officers while he was walking home from a convenience store.
He was forcibly held to the ground with his hands cuffed and placed in a chokehold.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and administered Ketamine which sent him into cardiac arrest.
Elijah was taken off of life support 3 days after the incident.
Breonna Taylor (2020)
Age: 26
Breonna Taylor was fatally shot multiple times while sleeping in her apartment after police entered without knocking or announcing a search warrant.
Andres Gaurdado (2020)
Age: 18
Andres Gaurdado was working when deputies approached him.
He got down on his knees and surrendered with his hands behind his head.
He was still shot seven times in the back.
It was revealed later that deputies stole surveillance footage and destroyed it.
George Floyd (2020)
Age: 46
George Floyd was murdered by a police officer who knelt on his neck for over 10 minutes while he was handcuffed and lying face-down on the street.
Officers made no attempt to revive him, and the officer's knee remained on his neck even as paramedics attempted to treat him.
Daunte Wright (2021)

Daunte Wright was fatally shot during a traffic stop by police.
The officer threatened to tase him and instead shot him in the chest with a firearm.
