Enso Anima's fifth self produced music video expands the format of a lyric video, with the lyrics to the song expressively and beautifully rendered through the twists and turns of an abandoned factory!
Abuse, trauma, and spending too much time trapped in your own head can all lead to a distorted view of the self. Bad habits and toxic behaviour, self-loathing and extreme anxiety can start to feel like an inescapable reality, something you're doomed to without end, such as a birth defect. Even the tiniest, most innocuous thoughts and actions can take on gargantuan, horrific proportions.
But while this downward spiral can have incredible power and momentum, the idea that it is inevitable is an illusion. Our brains have infinite ability to change and create new neural pathways, form new habits, make new decisions. An even more powerful, progressive force can be created in the opposite direction, if one can take the first step to break themselves out of their myopic reality, and recognize the endless, infinitely variable universe of possibility to which they belong. And one way to do this, is through the realm of dreams...

Lyrics:
And she said
“Yeah, you define yourself”
But she can’t stand to say
“You know, you hide yourself so well”
In three dead words
I might find myself
But what is it worth
When I’m still lying to myself so well?
Lie so well…
Well I guess there’s no excuse
No excuse for vision
But there’s no reason at all we should be blind
Indistinct
But your face, begins to howl its wordless tunes
As I steal their heart and run
Seeking cages made of steel
To confine me in this guise
To indulge in indecision
Without ever knowing why
Even yet, I’m so dry
And this helpless body yearns
For the velvet poison of the night
No exit to reveal
Until the tiger’s burning heart
Knows its victim is the lover in slow decay
Fallen from the lips of grace
(Well, I guess there’s no excuse)
As you choose your own star to burn
And it burns in your side like a brand irrevocable
(Well, I guess there’s no excuse)
I hope you throw some words to the dust
(Well, I guess there’s no excuse)
Cause they will find my ears
Like an open palm finds the side of an open face
It’s easy to pretend
That your scars are all in order
And your black heart won’t spring a well
And poison it from beneath
It’s easy to safeguard the worms in your head
And you can keep your nightmares all trapped in your bed
But then, how will you think?
And where will you have left to dream?
And she said
“Yeah, you define yourself”
But she can’t stand to say
“You know, you hide yourself so well”
In three dead words
I might find myself
But what is it worth
When I’m still lying to myself so well
What is it worth when I still lie so…
We breathe through aquamarine dreams;
This is what it must be like to see.
(Lie so well)
