We were utterly shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected passing of André Matos. André’s work with Angra and beyond was a huge musical influence on us in the early days, and Matt Smith has this to say: “Holy Land was actually the first power metal album I ever bought, and André was among the absolute best songwriters in the genre by any calculation. His influence on me was massive in those formative years, and he will be sorely missed.” We decided to record a cover of one of our favorite Angra tracks as a humble tribute to the man and the music he left behind, and we hope you enjoy it.
